Mosharraf Zaidi Appointed PM Shehbaz’s Spokesperson for Foreign Media

Islamabad – Renowned policy expert and columnist Mosharraf Zaidi has been appointed as the Prime Minister’s spokesperson for foreign media, according to an official announcement by Information Minister Attaullah Tarar.

Zaidi’s appointment is part of the government’s broader strategy to enhance Pakistan’s global narrative and improve engagement with international media outlets. With a background in public policy, governance, and foreign affairs, Zaidi is expected to bring strategic clarity and diplomatic nuance to Pakistan’s external communications.

Speaking to reporters, Minister Tarar emphasized that Mosharraf Zaidi’s role will focus on articulating Pakistan’s foreign policy positions, countering misinformation, and representing the Prime Minister’s office in global forums. The move comes amid heightened geopolitical tensions and increased scrutiny of Pakistan’s regional posture.

Zaidi previously served as an advisor at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and has contributed extensively to policy think tanks and international publications. His appointment signals a shift toward professionalized media diplomacy under PM Shahbaz Sharif’s administration.
