Former Army Chief Qamar Javed Bajwa Admitted to ICU After Head Injury

Islamabad, February 11, 2026 — Former Chief of Army Staff Gen (retd) Qamar Javed Bajwa has been admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) after suffering a head injury in a fall at his residence, according to family sources.

Reports indicate that Bajwa slipped in the washroom of his house around 4:30am on Tuesday, sustaining injuries to his head. He was immediately shifted to hospital, where doctors are monitoring his condition closely. No official medical bulletin has been released yet, but family members confirmed he is under treatment.

Gen Bajwa served as Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff from 2016 until his retirement on November 29, 2022. During his tenure, he oversaw key military operations and held senior positions at General Headquarters (GHQ) prior to becoming COAS.
